PRINCIPLE
B.O.D. is the quantity of oxygen consumed by the degradation of biological
material of a sample of water placed in an incubator for 5 days at a
constant temperature of 20 ¢XC.
FEATURES
- Made of chemically
resistant metal the case supports 6 amber glass sample bottles of 500
ml.
- Determination of
B.O.D. is read from 4 interchangeable scales of: 0-90, 0-250, 0-600 and
0-1000 mg/l as a function of the sample, permitting a direct precise
result.
- Sample volume can
be varied from 0-400 ml.
- Comes complete
with: 6 amber glass bottles, connecting tubes, 6 mercury pressure
manometers, 6 places for magnetic stirrer and 6 teflon coated stir bars.
- NOTE: To determine
B.O.D. it is necessary to maintain the samples at a constant 20 ¢XC.
This allows for the projected Kinetic curve to be determined.
- It is recommended
that a precise constant temperature incubator be used such as cooled
incubator with internal power point and fan circulation.
